Elena Toschi is the ECRIN European Correspondent for Italy. She provides support to national clinical investigators preparing clinical projects for European funding. She is also involved in capacity building activities of the Italian scientific partner, ItaCRIN.
Elena is based at the Italian Institute of Health (ISS) in Rome where she has gained extensive experience as a research scientist in the field of translational research on cancer. She is the (co)author of 34 scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals. She has mentored several post-graduate and PhD students, and been sponsored twice in the role of Principal Investigator (PI) by the Italian National Program for Research. Since 2015, she has been actively involved in the management of the ERA-NET TRANSCAN-2.
Elena received a BA in biological science and a PhD in ultra-structural morphology from the University of Bologna (Italy). She did her post-doctoral training at the Laboratory of Pathology of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) - National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, USA.
