VACCELERATE kick-off

The official kick-off of VACCELERATE, the European Corona Vaccine Trial Accelerator Platform, was held on March 5 2021. Funded by the European Commission’s Horizon2020 Framework Programme (GA n 101037867), it will establish a Pan-European vaccine network to accelerate Covid-19 vaccine Phase 2 and 3 clinical trials. The VACCELERATE network shall provide a single entry-point to address the needs of all stakeholders involved in Phase 2 and 3 vaccine clinical trials.

The kick-off meeting brought together all the consortium members to discuss the activities in this ambitious 3-year project. To develop the VACCELERATE platform, capacity mapping and building of both clinical sites and laboratories will be carried out as well as the creation of a centralised volunteer registry for individuals looking to participated in Phase 2 & 3 COVID-19 vaccine trials. ECRIN will contribute to the activities in this project including the design of a master protocol template and lead the work package on data management, data standards and data sharing with key European partner institutions.
