New coordination team for PtCRIN

The PtCRIN´s consortium members have elected a new PtCRIN Coordination team on March 18th, 2024. Emília Monteiro from NOVA Medical School-UNL has led PtCRIN from birth and throughout its first decade of existence. It was undoubtedly a period of great development for academic-driven clinical trials in Portugal under her leadership, laying the foundations and establishing national and European networks.

João Sargento Freitas and Tiago Alfaro from the ULS Coimbra and Universidade de Coimbra (Coimbra Clinical and Academic Center) now take up the hard task of building upon these achievements. Their responsibilities include continuing existing projects and bringing in fresh energy to renew and exponentiate PtCRIN’s role in supporting and expanding the academic research scenario in Portugal and with its ECRIN partners. Challenging times are expected in the near future of research landscape, but challenges bring forward original solutions and PtCRIN will surely foster synergic and innovative trails to forthcoming hurdles.
