GREEN-TRIALS project officially begins
At the end of 2025, the GREEN-TRIALS project was officially kicked off in Brno, Czech Republic.
This new Erasmus+ project will aim to create a curriculum, training courses, and workshops focusing on harmonising clinical trials education with environmental sustainability.
The strategies of decreasing carbon footprint and conserving resources in clinical trials are known and feasible across the entire clinical trial. However, there is no formal training to facilitate the conduct of greener trials globally. The project's proposed curriculum will be online, open-access, targeted at postgraduate medicine, pharmacy, biomedical, and health professions students as the primary populations. Students will utilise this knowledge as they progress through their careers. The materials will be further structured to provide workshop materials to upskill existing clinical study staff on the principles of environmental sustainability in their activity.
ECRIN is responsible for the dissemination of the project but will also contribute to all other elements from the development of the learning materials and teachers' guides, principally in a review and translation capacity.
The key information for the project is as follows:
- Funding programme: Erasmus + (2025-1-CZ01-KA220-HED-000355652)
- Budget: €400K
- Coordinator: Masaryk University
