ECRIN joins the COVID-19 Clinical Research Coalition
ECRIN has joined the COVID-19 Clinical Research Coalition in order to help building collaborative solutions to the crisis on COVID19 in low-resource settings. The COVID-19 Clinical Research Coalition connects a global community of renowned change-makers, both organisations and individuals, who together aim to accelerate desperately needed COVID-19 research in those areas where the virus could wreak havoc on already-fragile health systems and cause the greatest health impact on vulnerable populations.
The coalition is working to fast-track research that will provide evidence on COVID-19 prevention, diagnosis, and case management in resource-limited settings. This is the evidence needed to guide policies and practices. By joining the COVID-19 Clinical Research Coalition, ECRIN commits to:
- accelerate COVID-19 research in areas where the virus could wreak havoc on already-fragile health systems and cause the greatest health impact on vulnerable populations
- leverage each other’s expertise to fast-track research that will provide evidence needed to guide policies and practices on COVID-19 prevention, diagnosis, and case management in resource-limited settings
- promote and implement open sharing of research knowledge and data
- champion equitable and affordable access to the proposed interventions
