REMEDI4ALL webinar series a success!

REMEDi4ALL Webinar series

REMEDI4ALL, Beacon for Rare Diseases and ECRIN co-hosted and a 3-part webinar series that addressed topics such as an introduction to clinical trials, clinical trials for rare diseases and the support and management of clinical trials.

The first webinar was an introduction to clinical trials which strived to provide answers to key questions from patients & trial participants. ECRIN colleagues Lenka Součková and Kateřina Nebeská explained why we do clinical research and what the process looks like for participants. They focused on key concepts such as randomisation, blinding, placebo and more. They discussed what is put in place to protect participants and integrate them into clinical research.

The second webinar aligned with Rare Disease Day. It focused on how innovative trial design supports the needs of small populations as is the case for rare diseases as well as what are endpoints and outcome measures, why they are important and how they can be codesigned with patients. ECRIN built a great lineup for this session including Dr Joaquín Sáez Peñataro and Dr Sarah Gorst alongside the wonderful hosts from Beacon for Rare Diseases and REMEDI4All.

The final webinar focused on the support and management of clinical trials, with a focus on patient engagement in clinical trials. The webinar was hosted by REMEDI4All and introduced by Beacon for Rare Diseases and followed by an overview of the stakeholders involved in clinical trials and the support to trial management presented by ECRIN's Head of Clinical Operations Amelie Michon and our Portuguese European Correspondent, Joana Batuca.
