Pr. Evelyne Jacqz-Aigrain
As part of our series of interviews with the PedCRIN Consortium members, we recently had the pleasure of speaking with Prof. Evelyne Jacqz-Aigrain to ask about the role of the Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM) in the PedCRIN project and the elaboration of the tools for neonatal clinical trials.
Evelyne is a neonatologist and paediatric pharmacologist and Head of the Department of Paediatric Pharmacology and Pharmacogenetics of the Robert Debré Hospital. She also works for the INSERM and Paris University in France, where she is a university lecturer.
Evelyne co-leads PedCRIN WP3- Tools for Neonatal and Paediatric Clinical Trials. The main task of this Work Package is to develop or adapt existing tools to be used for the management and set-up of the multinational neonatal and paediatric clinical trials, to disseminate tools to PedCRIN partners and to train and support partners on the use of the tools. In PedCRIN, INSERM is also involved in other WPs i.e. Sustainability and Communication.
Evelyne explained that the main objective of the neonatal tools is to help researchers address a common challenges they may face concerning the specifics of setting up and managing neonatal clinical trials.
