HECRIN Receives Funding for Project on ‘Establishing and Internationalizing the Thematic Network for Clinical Research’
The Hungarian Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (HECRIN), ECRIN’s Hungarian national scientific partner, received 1.5 billion HUF (4.5 million euros) from the Ministry of Education for the project ‘HRDOP-3.6.2-16-2017-00009 - Establishing and Internationalizing the Thematic Network for Clinical Research’. Implemented by three medical schools (University of Pécs, University of Szeged and University of Debrecen), the project was launched on July 1st, 2017 and will run until October 31st, 2020.
The aim is to support the development of a Hungarian national clinical trial unit network (HECRIN) that will be able to provide trial design and management support for clinical trials. As such, the project will effectively seek to improve the landscape for clinical research in Hungary, tapping into the innovation potential of Hungarian academic partners. The project will likewise support enhanced participation in European / international collaborative projects on clinical research for the benefit of patients, healthcare professionals, and health systems. This will be achieved, in part, through HECRIN’s continued participation in ECRIN; ECRIN can facilitate Hungary’s enhanced participation in international initiatives, strengthening the international visibility of Hungarian researchers.
ECRIN is invited to a meeting in Pecs on July 13th with the universities participating in HECRIN and the Ministries to discuss the ECRIN contribution to the structuring of Hungarian clinical research.
