ERIC Forum Annual Meeting 2025
On 12–13 November, ECRIN attended the Annual Meeting of the ERIC Forum in Brussels. The two-day gathering brought together established ERICs, ERICs in preparation, and key policy stakeholders from across Europe. We discussed major priorities for Research Infrastructures in the context of the next Framework Programme (FP10).
This year, the meeting introduced a new, more interactive format showcasing the progress of the ERIC Forum 2 project through three workshops and a poster exhibition:

- Workshop 1 – ERIC Regulation & Distributed RIs led by Giuseppe Cimo (JIV-ERIC), participants worked together to identify the main challenges of applying the ERIC Regulation in distributed research infrastructures.
- Workshop 2 – European Policy Priorities of ERICs facilitated by Ilari Pulli (Euro-BioImaging ERIC), this session advanced work on a forthcoming white paper addressing ERICs’ policy priorities, planned for release in September 2026.
- Workshop 3 – Future Reporting Platform with Werner Kutsch (ICOS-ERIC), ERICs explored the data that will feed into a new digital reporting tool designed to complement the ERIC Forum website and showcase the collective impact of the ERIC community.
- Poster Exhibition - Work Package Highlights: the poster session showcased the activities across all Work Packages. We are especially proud of our poster on ERICs and European Science Policy & Research Strategy.
Thank you to all partner ERICs (EMSO-ERIC, ECCSEL-ERIC, ELI, MIRRI, ESS (SE), ESS Social, EURO-BIOIMAGING, EPOS-ERIC, CESSDA, ICOS) in the WP for their valuable contributions to this team effort!
A highlight of the event was the appointment of Bonnie Wolff-Boenisch (CESSDA) as the new Chair of the ERIC Forum Executive Board, succeeding Antje Keppler (Euro-BioImaging ERIC). She will be joined by Eija Juurola (ACTRIS ERIC) as Vice Chair. Together, they will steer the Forum’s strategic agenda in the coming term.
A warm thank you to BBMRI-ERIC for the excellent organisation and moderation throughout the event.
