EOSC4Cancer project comes to a close

The EOSC4Cancer project officially wrapped up on 31 May.
The final conference was held in Barcelona on 22 May and focused on sustainability and future directions for EOSC4Cancer's work and achievements within the EU Cancer mission and beyond. Over 100 participants joined in person and online. The event featured presentations on project achievements, the European Health Data Space and the EU Cancer Mission. Discussions were held to share how this work will be carried forward by a host of new cancer data initiatives such as UNCAN-CONNECT, CANDLE and EU-CIP. Stakeholders also discussed patient-centered approaches, personalised survivorship, and challenges in health data.
Throughout the lifecycle of the project, ECRIN developed and evaluated metadata schemes for genetic inclusion/exclusion criteria, supported interoperability efforts, generated a large database of structured IECs from global clinical trial metadata for use in AI applications, engaged stakeholders, and contributed to the project roadmap.
