Shared voices, better outcomes: patients and public involvement in infectious disease research

Webinar | 15 April 2026 | 12:30โ€“13:30 CEST

Patient and public involvement (PPI) is increasingly recognised as a key component of high-quality infectious disease research. When patients and the public are meaningfully involved, research questions become more relevant, study designs more robust, and outcomes more closely aligned with real-world needs.

To explore this in practice, CoMeCT is organising a scientific webinar โ€œShared voices, better outcomes: patients and public involvement in infectious disease researchโ€, taking place on 15 April 2026 from 12:30 to 13:30 CEST.

A scientific discussion built with patients

This webinar is organised with patients and brings together a diverse panel of stakeholders involved in infectious disease research, including:

  • Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) specialists
  • Patients
  • Patient associations
  • Researchers

The discussion will focus on pragmatic, science-based approaches to involving patients and the public throughout the research lifecycle, from study conception and design to implementation and dissemination of results.

Clear scope and focus

This event is designed as a scientific and methodological exchange. It is not intended as a polemic or debate forum, and controversial or political topics (such as vaccine debates) will not be addressed. Instead, the webinar will focus on constructive dialogue, evidence, and practical experience in PPI within infectious disease research.

Join the webinar

Researchers, healthcare professionals, patient representatives and all stakeholders interested in improving research quality through meaningful patient and public involvement are warmly invited to attend.
