PPI Ignite Network
Public and Patient Involvement Ignite NetworkInitiative leader: RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences
Duration: 2026-2031
The PPI Ignite Network promotes excellence and inspires innovation in public and patient involvement (PPI) in health and social care research on the island of Ireland. Public and patient involvement in research means that the public and patients are involved in planning and doing research from start to finish and help tell the public about the results of research.
The Network provides a shared voice for PPI across the island of Ireland, aiming to change the research culture, an important contributor to improving health outcomes for the public.
The Network includes 11 Universities, 10 All-Island Partner Organisations (including ECRIN), and 82 Local Partnerships between universities and individuals or organisations.
In this next phase of the initiative, the network has been asked to adopt an all-island approach and look internationally with a European view. This was one of the reasons for ECRIN's integration as a partner of this initiative.
