The EU funded ImmunAID project which focused on Systematic autoinflammatory diseases (SAIDs) is coming to a close. The study aimed to 1.) develop diagnostic classifications algorithms for SAIDs based on a combination of biomarkers to be integrated in a global and comprehensive dataset and analysed using bioinformatics, statistical and machine learning methodologies. 2.) validate the different diagnostic classifiers using robust statistical, biological, and clinical criteria, through a strategy that is adapted to rare disease cohorts. The project is sponsored by INSERM and coordinated by Pr Bruno Fautrel as the principal investigator.

This prospective, multicenter (34 sites) and multinational (11 European countries) cohort study, was supported by ECRIN who provided its services in the 10 countries beyond the sponsors borders.

ECRIN support encompassed the management of all regulatory and ethical aspects, monitoring activities including report review and site close out, assisting the sponsor with site contracts, particularly in cases where challenges arose due to language barriers or local regulatory requirements.

We look forward to sharing with you the results of the study when they are available.
