EOSC-ENTRUST kick-off meeting
The EOSC-ENTRUST consortium can look back at a productive kick-off meeting held in Amsterdam this March. The mission of EOSC-ENTRUST (“A European Network of TRUSTed research environments”) is to create a European network of Trusted Research Environments (TREs) for sensitive data and to drive European interoperability by joint development of a common blueprint for federated data access and analysis. EOSC-ENTRUST brings together providers of existing TREs from 15 European countries with a shared goal to implement, validate and promote their capabilities through a common European framework using shared standards and compatible practices.
ECRIN has partnered with the University of Oslo (UiO) to design, develop and operate a TRE for clinical trial data sharing. This TRE uses the established Services for Sensitive Data (TSD) of UiO and will serve as a driver use case for crystalising minimum requirements for clinical trial data sharing (legal, ethical, operational, technical), and exploring interoperability requirements across different TREs that focus on clinical research and health. In collaboration with Health Data Research (HDR) UK and University of Dundee, ECRIN will provide prerequisites for using routinely collected health data in clinical research.
