The European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (ECRIN, www.ecrin.org) is a public, non profit research  organisation currently looking for a Research Software Engineer “stagiaire en alternance” to be hosted at its headquarters in Paris, France, for a period of at most 12 months, starting as soon as possible. 
    
About the Position: 
The position is suitable for someone interested in Full stack software development, including both back end (databases and APIs) and front end (web portals and browser based tools) in scientific research and will be available in the ECRIN Data Team.

Possible areas of involvement:
In the Data Team we are working in 3 main areas:
- An application to facilitate data sharing in clinical research, the clinical research Data Sharing Repository, https://crdsr.ecrin.org. The application is built in Angular (HTML, CSS, JS, TS) and Django (Python, Linux). The same stack is employed in a project management tool aimed at clinical trials currently under development.
- A data warehouse collecting data regarding clinical research studies, the clinical research MetaData Repository, based on the InterMine system and using Postgresql, Java, Clojure, Docker, shell scripting, Linux
- Health data processing, in particular the use and conversion between data standards, health data regulations, secure data processing

Necessary skills
•    Written and spoken English (working language)
•    Ability and willingness to work in a team
Desirable skills:
•    Ability to deploy, test, and document software projects with GitHub
•    Data management in a scientific context
•    Software development using modern web technologies (e.g. AngularJS, Typescript, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) plus Java and Python
•    DevOps (e.g. docker, github ci/cd, bash scripting)
•    Managing and accessing relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL)
•    RESTful API development
•    Good oral and written communication
Also appreciated:
-    Statistical knowledge
-    Project management interest
