STOA workshop: Creation of a public European medicines infrastructure: Purpose and feasibility

While great progress has been made in recent years in the development of public health within the European Union (EU), the Covid-19 pandemic brought to light existing vulnerabilities in the European health response mechanism, from Member State incoordination to difficulties in manufacturing and accessing medicines, to EU research fragmentation and differences between corporate R&D choices and public health priorities.

On 15 and 16 November 2022 the 4th EULAC PerMed Summer School will take place as a hybrid event, held in Panama City (Panama) and broadcasted online as well. The EULAC PerMed Summer School on clinical studies in Personalised Medicine aims for junior researchers and personalised medicine stakeholders, and has a specific focus on illustrating clinical studies’ gaps and challenges under different disease perspectives: infectious and neglected diseases, oncology diseases, cardiovascular and rare diseases.

EULAC PerMed Technical Workshop

On 17 and 18 November 2022 EULAC PerMed organises the third and final technical workshop on clinical trials in Personalised Medicine. The workshop will focus on the clinical trial designs applied in Personalised Medicine, exploring the advantages and challenges of the different designs through use cases. The workshop will also address the challenges and opportunities of multinational collaborations in Personalised Medicine.


EFGCP Annual Conference 2016

The European Forum for Good Clinical Practice (EFGCP) is holding its 2016 annual conference on the topic of "Faster and Safer Paths to New Treatments: Bringing together the two worlds of pharmaceutical and device research to better serve public, patients and research participants". The event will take place from March 1st to 2nd, 2016 in Brussels, Belgium.

The aim of the conference is to explore how medicines and devices can be developed speedily but safely for patient benefit on a sound evidence base within the current and changing regulatory European frameworks. 

CORBEL Workshop on Access to Individual Patient Data

As part of the CORBEL project, ECRIN is hosting the first workshop of the patient-level data taskforce in Paris from March 3rd to 4th. The taskforce, which includes experts from various fields, will aim to reach a consensus on a common framework for providing access to patient-level clinical trial data. The creation of a database of anonymised, user-friendly patient data will be considered as a possible development. 

ECRIN to Hold Meetings in Prague during International Clinical Trials Day

ECRIN is organising a two-day meeting in Prague, Czech Republic from May 19th to 20th, 2016. The first day will bring together internal stakeholders to discuss ECRIN’s organisation, means of working, strategic development and related issues. A specific working session will also provide the opportunity to discuss with the Czech scientific community.

Technical Workshop on Better Methods for Clinical Studies in Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology

ECRIN will be attending ESCMID’s postgraduate technical workshop on better methods for clinical studies in infectious diseases and clinical microbiology from October 26th to 28th, 2016 in Seville, Spain. 

The event organisers include the ESCMID Study Group for Infections in the Elderly (ESGIE) and the ESCMID Study Group for Bloodstream Infections and Sepsis (ESGBIS).
