Lenka Souckova
European Correspondent Czech Republic
Lenka Souckova is the ECRIN European Correspondent for the Czech Republic. She is a researcher at the Department of Pharmacology in Masaryk University with a specific interest in academic clinical trial methodology, medical writing, and regulatory issues.
After receiving her master’s degree in pharmacy she started to work as a clinical pharmacist specialised in intensive care medicine and then in pediatric oncology. Her major area of research is focused on pharmacotherapy of pediatric malignancies, drug interactions, drug incompatibilities, bioavailability of drugs, pharmacology of targeted and biotechnology drugs, therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM), and pharmacovigilance.
From 2009 to 2014 she worked as head of the Clinical Trials Department in the International Clinical Research Center (ICRC) located at St. Anne's University Hospital in Brno, Czech Republic. Her responsibilities included setting up and implementing the system for coordinating clinical trials and the quality assurance system in the university hospital. She coordinated commercial clinical trials as well as the investigator-initiated trials.
She received an MSc and a PharmD from University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno, and a PhD in anesthesiology, intensive care medicine and algesiology from Masaryk University (Brno, Czech Republic).
