Elena Toschi

European Correspondent Italy

Elena Toschi has been the ECRIN European Correspondent for Italy, since 2018. In this role, she provides support to national clinical investigators preparing clinical projects for European funding. She is involved in the capacity-building activities of the ItaCRIN scientific partners. She is also focused on organising training courses for Italian clinical researchers.

Elena is based at the Italian Institute of Health (ISS) in Rome where she has gained extensive experience as a research scientist in the field of translational and clinical research on cancer. She has also acquired several years of experience in the management of ERA-NET translational projects through collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Health.

Elena received a BA in biological science and a PhD in ultra-structural morphology from the University of Bologna (Italy). She did her post-doctoral training at the Laboratory of Pathology of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) - National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, USA.
