A multi-centre randomized, placebo-controlled trial of mirabegron, a new beta3-adrenergic receptor agonist on the progression of left ventricular mass and diastolic function in patients with structural heart diseaseProspective, randomized, placebo-controlled, multi-centric international phase IIb clinical trial. The target population consists of patients with cardiac structural remodelling with or without symptoms of heart failure (maximum NYHA II). The objective is to evaluate mirabegron (a new β3-specific agonist) over 12 months as add-on to standard treatment compared to standard treatment alone. Endpoints focus on cardiac remodelling: Quantitative indices of hypertrophy and left ventricle (LV) function, in addition exercise tolerance is investigated.
