EuroGCT: Workshop on best practice in public engagement and communicating

Online
15/06/2022

The aims of EuroGCT’s first one-day workshop on sharing best practice in public engagement and communicating about gene and cell therapy will be:

  • To facilitate the sharing of best practice amongst the EuroGCT partnership.
  • To support EuroGCT partners in their professional development so that they can then deliver training/innovative public engagement initiatives within their own localities.
  • To foster a network of public engagement professionals amongst the partnership.
  • To collectively review the project's communication activities to date and plan for next steps.
  • To plan for future capacity-building workshops, including identifying objectives, topics, potential host organisations, and forming a planning committee.

Registration by 30 April: https://edinburgh.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/eurogct-workshop-2022

Who is this workshop for?

1. We would encourage everyone in engagement and communication roles, including outreach managers, engagement professionals and communication officers, to attend this workshop.

2. Researchers at any stage of their career with specific interest and experience in, and/or responsibility for, gene and cell therapy-related engagement are also very welcome to attend.

Please complete the registration survey by 30 April, because the programme is shaped based on participant contributions and feedback. The survey will remain open in May and early June for last-minute registration to receive the Zoom link, but please register as early as possible to help us finalise the programme.

Please note this workshop is not intended as an introduction to public engagement for those without experience. However, we have identified a need to support early-career researchers (ECR) starting out in public engagement. An ECR component is planned as part of an extended programme for future workshops.
