It will focus on Pragmatic Comparative-Effectiveness Randomized Trials, evaluating the effectiveness of different interventions in routine clinical settings to reflect real-world practice by including diverse patient populations and standard care conditions. By generating real-world evidence, these trials support more informed, practical health decisions for clinicians, patients, and policymakers
In his talk, Dr. Frank Hulstaert He will provide a comprehensive overview of how these trials can bridge the gap between clinical research and routine medical practice, ultimately enhancing health outcomes.
Frank Hulstaert background is in internal medicine and Applied Artificial Intelligence. He joined the Belgian Health Care Knowledge Centre (KCE) in 2004. As a senior researcher he is mainly involved in health technology assessments and since 2016 also in KCE Trials, a program of publicly funded practice-oriented trials. During the COVID pandemic he coordinated the non-commercial COVID clinical trials in Belgium.
