The European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (ECRIN), a public research organisation, is currently recruiting a Junior Project Officer.

ECRIN is the not-for-profit European research infrastructure specialising in the management of multinational clinical research across all medical disciplines.

ECRIN connects national clinical research networks, mainly academic clinical trial units, having the capacity to manage clinical trials on the national level. ECRIN provides information, consultations and operational clinical trial services to academic Sponsors and/or investigators and SMEs. ECRIN’s services cover all clinical trial activities in any disease area, from study planning and grant application preparation to the set-up and conduct of multinational clinical trials.

We are seeking a Junior Project Officer to provide support managing international projects within our Infrastructure Development Projects Unit.

Roles and Responsibilities

This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual who wishes to further develop his/her career in the management of European projects.

The Role

The Junior Project Officer will work in the Infrastructure Development Projects Unit to support a dynamic core team of Project Managers under the supervision of the Head of Unit.

The main responsibilities of the ECRIN Junior Project Officer include (but are not limited to) the following within the framework of the ongoing projects:

  • Project Management
    • Support the preparation of grant applications,
    • Support project activities such as the preparation of deliverables including contributing to bibliographic backgrounders and manuscripts,
    • Follow-up with project partners regarding ongoing tasks.
  • Coordination and communication
    • Schedule and coordinate meetings and other-project related events,
    • Follow-up with the implementing partners for progress reports,
    •  Organise project meetings/events, minute taking, and meeting delegate support,
    • Assist with internal and external communications,
  • Logistics
    • Provide support to core team in organising and holding events (face-to-face, hybrid and remote teleconference) for internal and external stakeholders,
  • Documentation
    • Assist with development and dissemination of reports; type/edit/proofread documents,
    • Data entry in database,
  • Finance management assistance
    • Assist in project planning with preparation of budgets and reconciliation of budgets; follow up with Project Manager.

The Candidate

The candidate will ideally possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and build good working relationships with academic and professional services colleagues. He/She will be a natural team player with an inclusive and open communication style. Ideally the candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Qualification to a Bachelor level or equivalent preferably in Health or Life Sciences,
  • Experience in operating at European/international level and in multicultural environments,
  • Experience of organising events both internal and external to the organisation,
  • Experience in the organisation and support of an office and team including establishing and managing filing systems, organising meetings, and similar support tasks,
  • Experience working in a confidential environment,
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, and ability in managing tasks across various functions and projects,
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English, other languages a plus,
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, email applications and the internet,
  • Able to travel when required for project meetings.

Desirable skills:

  • Relevant experience of working as an administrator in an academic or business organisation,
  • Experience in project management, in particular EU-funded projects (H2020, Horizon Europe, IHI).

The post is a full or part-time contract according to French law. The salary is set according to European/international standards for similar positions and will depend on qualifications and experience.
