On January 19th, the ECRAID Prime project held its official kick-off meeting online. This ambitious project aims to establish a network for the implementation of an early phase platform trial for COVID-19 treatments in the primary care setting. The platform will use response adaptive randomization to ensure that the safety and efficacy of treatments can be assessed in a timely manner.

Consortium members and representatives from primary care research sites and networks from several EU countries participated in the kick-off meeting. The work package leaders provided an overview of the objectives, tasks, milestones and deliverables of each of the work packages, and outlined the work plan for the first year of the project. A presentation on the Joint Access Advisory Mechanism (JAAM) – include link here- by Jacques Demotes, also took place, followed by an interactive workshop focusing on key questions to be addressed for the operational success of ECRAID Prime.
