Maria Buoncervello

European Correspondent Italy

Maria Buoncervello is a European correspondent (EuCo) for Italy. 

Currently, Maria is a researcher at the Italian National Institute of Health (ISS) where she has acquired experience on translational research on cancer and drug interactions. She has received an award for her research in the field of gender medicine, and has been sponsored as Principal Investigator through funds from ISS. At ISS, she is also involved in scientific dissemination.

Since 2018, she has been involved in the management of ItaCRIN activities and provides support to national investigators developing multicentric clinical studies for European funding.

She received a MS in Genomic Biotechnology from the University of Rome La Sapienza and a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the University La Sapienza and Karolinska Institute (Stockholm).
